Crystal Palace Junior Triathletes take Dulwich Park by storm!
Last Sunday was the final CPT junior club championship event, a run race in Dulwich Park. Well done to everyone who competed and earned points for their team. 16 of you were there and your CPT kit looked striking on the start line.
But did the Wiggos close the points gap? No, unfortunately not for them, this year the Cavs came out in force, scores on Sunday were...
Cavs 109 with 10 team members and bonus points awarded to Harry, Matthew, Mali and Ben A
Wiggos 66 with 6 team members and bonus points awarded to Alex and Elle
Many congratulations to the Cavs who have taken the Club Championship title this year by 129 points and will be awarded the trophy with a mini Mars of course for EVERYONE who took part in the Club Champs series.
Jon says "Chapeau" to all who took part and thank you to the parents and supporters.
If anyone has any ideas to evolve the club champs for 2012 please let Sheila know.

Club Champs update
As the triathlon race season draws to a close there is one final event remaining in the CPT Junior Club Championships, the Dulwich Park Run on Sunday 2 October.
It is a one mile run for primary age and two miles for secondary age, up to 15 years old. Entry is on the day, usually a couple of quid and takes place whilst the 10k is going on so from around 10:15 onwards, with the junior races starting from around 11:00.
There was a massive turn out of CPT juniors last year with lots of podium places too, all presented by Jo Brand! A lot of adult members having run the 10k stayed to support the juniors, so make sure you wear your club kit to get a big cheer. If you would like to purchase a CPT running vest please email Brigit
So finally the crucial bit…..the team scores!
Wiggos 779
Cavs 857
Remember everyone earns 10 points for their team for taking part.
Which team will win the esteemed honour of Club Champions?

Club champs update
The Trinity Triathlon, the 9th event in the club champs series took place on 10 July. There was a massive 24 of you racing but also a further eight juniors who wanted to race but couldn't due to illness/injury or not getting a place That's three quarters of the junior club! Wow, you lot are keen.
Points for the Trinity Triathlon were as follows:
WIGGOs 135 including 5 bonus points awarded to Alex Y, Freddie and Oliver
CAVs 112 including 2 bonus points awarded to Michael
So, with one event remaining the Wiggos have closed the gap slightly and are 78 points behind.
CAVs 857
WIGGOs 779
The final event is the Dulwich Park run in October, remember last year the Wiggos were behind and came out in force for this event to steal the championship! The date hasn't been advertised yet but it is usually the first weekend in October, so pencil in Sunday 2 October and we'll let you know when we find out.
Lastly, a big thank you to Sara and Alice for organising the picnic and Jon for organising the rounders match, hope you enjoyed yourself... and it wasn't just the juniors having fun, it was the big kids too!

Club Champs update
At the end of June, 12 daring juniors undertook the Children's open water race at Dorney Lake. What an event, on the hottest day of the year everyone who raced received a very cool 'Super Tri' (instead of Super Dry) t shirt!
So with the Wiggos scoring 50 points and the Cavs scoring 70 points, the overall scores after eight events are...
WIGGOs 644
CAVs 745
Top scorers for the Wiggos are Adam and Elle and top scorers for the Cavs are Luc and Harry.
There are only two events remaining in the Club Champs, many of you are racing the Trinity Triathlon (don't forget our picnic afterwards!) this weekend and then the Dulwich Park run in October, date to be confirmed.
Read Joe's Dorney report and Matthew's on the June news page.

Club champs update
The 7th event in the CPT club champs series took place on Sunday 19 June, the Thames Turbo Aquathlon in Hampton. As always there was loads of encouragement for everyone and a lot of CPT noise! Well done to everyone, especially for completing those many, many laps around the field, it made me dizzy watching.
Which team had the most triathletes racing?
The Cavs had six juniors, scoring 60 but the Wiggos had nine juniors plus four bonus points, so they scored 94. It's getting closer!
Overall scores after seven events are....
Wiggos 594
Cavs 675
Three events left to go, can the Wiggos close the gap? See some of you at Dorney Open water race this weekend.

Thanks to Ron and James for their photos from the race.

Club Champs update
A massive turn out for the CPT club Aquathlon at Trinity on Friday, well done to everyone who raced, especially the first timers. Looking through Brian's photos, there's a mixture of joy and pain on your faces! Thank you to Suse, Jon and Phil for organising the race. Results are listed below.
So which team had the most juniors racing? Well it was even at 12 juniors per team, so both the Wonderful Wiggos and Courageous Cavs score a bumper 120 points each!
If you would like to write a short piece about any of the recent club champs for the website, please send to the webmaster who will happily publish here.

Club Championship belated update
The first weekend in May saw the start of the junior London League races, and also the third event in the CPT Club Championships. 19 CPT juniors competed in either the Epping Aquathlon or the Hillingdon Duathlon with Adam and James racing in both! Well done to everyone, especially to those for whom it was their first race.
At Hillingdon on Sunday CPT had the biggest turn out of any club and everyone made their presence known with plenty of noise and encouragement for all.
Jon said …. "A great performance by everyone who raced in testing windy conditions. A great effort from all, particularly by Harry, Morris and Nik who had crashed the previous day. As usual I was a very proud coach"
Congratulations to the Cavs, who once again had the most team members racing.
Hillingdon results were….
Wiggos 75 (70 team points and 5 bonus points for places by James A, Alex Y and Elle)
Cavs 113 (11 team points and bonus points for places by Isaac and Mali)
So, overall scores after three events are…..Wiggos 155 Cavs 283.

Photographs from Hillingdon and Club Champs update
Thanks very much to Mark Allan for the action photographs from Hillingdon on Sunday 6 March.
Well done to Matthew's little brother, Luke who cycled round and round on his little bike and appears on the last photo in this gallery.
View the photos.
Where are the Wiggos?
The second CPT junior club champs event, a bike team time trial was held at Hillingdon on Sunday at the end of the training session. Once divided into their teams it quickly became apparent that perhaps the Wiggos had stayed in bed!
There were eight Cavs taking part (scoring 80 points) and only four Wiggos (scoring 40 points) so the scores on the doors after two events are.....
Wiggos 80
Cavs 170
Check your diaries and get yourself along to the next event in the CPT junior club champs, the Hillingdon Duathlon on Sunday 1st May, entries are now open. There is another CPT training session at Hillingdon ahead of this on Sunday 10 April, which will give you valuable race prep. Read more about last Sunday's session on the News page.

1st Club Champs Event - Richmond Park - 26 February
It was a very wet and windy day for the first event in the junior club championships on Saturday. After getting a soaking on their bikes around Richmond Park the Chilly Cavs and Wet Wiggos were extremely enthusiastic to get on with the team run relay, no really they were! It was a brilliant turn out considering many were away for half term and the dreadful weather. Nine Cavs and four Wiggos completed the event, Ben A and Alice were also there but couldn't run due to injury and illness. With a slight imbalance of team members, Jon borrowed a few Cavs to run as Wiggos for the day. It was a closely contested race with everyone giving it their best shot.
Points so far are.....
Cavs 90
Wiggos 40
The weather just added to the madness. A great team and club spirit, well done to everyone who braved the morning.
