Crystal Palace has been running since 1993 when it was set up by a small group of friends. That group of friends has now grown to over 180 members.
During these years triathlon has grown and matured with far greater participation, lots more races and bigger races with London Triathlon having as many as 8000 athletes race over one weekend.
On top of this growth we’ve seen the sport televised and move from night time slots to more friendly popular viewing times. Each year the amount of TV coverage increases.
With all this growth the sport still remains a friendly modern sport where novices race along side elite athletes.
Along with all this growth and interest in the sport more young people want to get involved but where do they go to train?!
Crystal Palace wanted to fill this void and work got started in July 2007 to put the new junior section together. After months of meetings, organising training, etc the club held its first junior club session on 5 April 2008 at the Crystal Palace athletics track. This session was attended by 11 keen youngsters, three girls and eight boys ranging from 8-15. Membership is growing steadily with over 30 members by the end of 2009.
If you are between 8-18 and are interested in entering the whacky sport of triathlon check below for full details of training sessions and fill out a membership form.
Look forward to seeing you soon.

The introduction of a junior section was given the go ahead at the 2007 AGM, subject to a framework being developed to inform members of how such a section would operate and the impact it may have on the existing club.
Junior membership was approved at an EGM in March and Junior membership has now been added to the Constitution.
