Congratulations to Peter Mack and Geoff Dillon for braving the snowy and windy conditions on Sunday 23 November to complete the Kings Wood Mountain Bike Duathlon organised by Ashford Tri, especially in Club kit. Peter came 11th overall but says he really came 9th as relay teams are definitely cheating!
Geoff says "It was a tough course and bitterly cold, but a real Winter wonderland trip. It included a mini-Alpe d'Huez series of hairpins that had most of us running up the hill with our bikes. The sting in the tail for me was that I ended up doing four laps instead of three as the signposting to transition was non-existent, hence my lowly finishing position".

You can see all the race photographs taken by Graham Robinson on his website.

Anthony completed Ironman Florida on 1 November. He reports, it was very very tough - after 80 miles on the bike I really wanted to stop! The run was a nightmare and it's supposed to be my strongest discipline! I was hoping for under 4hrs marathon but completely bonked on the last 3-4miles and had to walk. Used a brand new bike for the ride - assembled it when I got to Florida and had only ridden it round the block before the race. Not exactly ideal but turned out fine and I'm certain was a lot faster than the Trek I'd been training on.
He obviously hasn't been put off as he's signed up for Ironman Brazil in May 2009.

Results from two contrasting races! The Ballbuster Duathlon at Box Hill was very wet, windy and hilly whereas the Clearwater Ironman 70.3 World Championship was held in sunny Florida on a pan-flat course!
