What inspired you to try a triathlon?
Julie Moss struggling to finish the Hawaii Ironman. Remember seeing this on World of Sport and thinking what a ridiculous sport!

Where and when was your first triathlon? What was the distance?London 1984. Approximately Olympic 1 mile / 30 miles/ 6 miles - finished 17th!
Do you have a favourite race? I've always liked the Swanage Olympic course but I might change my mind next time I'm climbing the cliff face on the run! You can't beat it for apres race relaxation on the beach (and the fish and chips!).
Describe your first ever bike I'd like to say I had a cool Raleigh Chopper but it was an entirely anonymous Hercules shopper bike. My first serious bike was a 531 Condor Italia which I absolutely loved.
Where does your bike live? Wherever there is space. When I first met Lisa my bikes had pride of place in my kitchen but not any more!
One piece of advice you would give a triathlon newbieListen to your coaches - you get more information from them than any book or website.
Where's your favourite place to ride?On the track! Smooth surface and no cars.
Do you have any pre-race rituals and meals? What are they? Not really except for a big mug of strong tea.
Favourite post-race drink/snack?Ice cream, assuming it's reasonably warm, and tea if it's not.
Do you prefer to train alone or with a group? It's more fun in a group...
What do you carry with you when you train? Not a lot with running or swimming but with cycling the usual toolkit and food/drink.
Do you run to music? If so, what's your favourite? No. I like to be aware of what's going on around me. Having said that I can't even think about a turbo session without my iPod.
Legs shaved, waxed or hairy?Hairy but I used to shave, maybe again when I'm fitter......
Ironman - Yes/No/Again?I'm not ruling out another completely.
Ironman tattoo - Yes/No/Where?Tempted but no.
What do you do in the real world, outside triathlon?Photographer, house husband and dog walker!
Three people you'd like to have dinner with?Stephen Fry, Sir David Attenborough and Kate Bush.
What are you currently reading?'Scream if you want to go faster' by Russ Litten.
What was the last film you saw?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
What’s next for you?Clash of The Tritons tomorrow followed by any races with lots of swimming involved!
